CONTACT ARGUS TACTICAL

Virginia generally does not require a permit to openly carry a firearm where open carry is otherwise lawful. A valid Concealed Handgun Permit is generally required to carry a handgun concealed unless a specific legal exception applies. Carry restrictions can also vary by location and firearm configuration, so students should review current Virginia law before carrying. NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting satisfies the course requirement prior to getting your license. Bring a valid photo ID, comfortable clothing appropriate for the range and weather, and any course-specific materials listed in your registration confirmation. If your class includes live-fire training, you will receive instructions regarding firearms, ammunition, eye and ear protection, and other required equipment before class. Do not bring a loaded firearm into the classroom unless specifically instructed and permitted to do so.

The simplest option is an established public or private shooting range where you are authorized to shoot. Shooting on private property may also be permitted in some circumstances, but state law, local ordinances, property restrictions, and safe-discharge requirements can apply. Always verify the rules for the specific location before shooting.

No. Many Argus Tactical courses are designed for beginners. Each course description identifies the intended experience level. If you are unsure which class is appropriate, contact Argus Tactical before booking.

Training locations vary depending on the course. Classroom instruction may be conducted at an approved private location, while live-fire portions are conducted at an appropriate range or facility.

When a course includes a completion certificate, it will be issued only after the participant satisfies the applicable attendance, safety, knowledge, practical, and course-completion requirements. Payment or attendance alone does not guarantee certification.
