IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Safety is the highest priority during all Argus Tactical LLC training. Every participant is required to understand and follow all safety rules, instructor commands, range rules, and applicable laws.

Failure to follow a safety rule or instructor command may result in immediate suspension or termination of participation in an activity or course.

If at any time you do not understand an instruction, command, exercise, or safety requirement, stop and ask an instructor for clarification before proceeding.

FUNDAMENTAL FIREARM SAFETY RULES

  1. Treat Every Firearm as if it is Loaded

I will treat every firearm as if it is loaded unless its condition has been personally and properly verified. I will not assume that a firearm is unloaded based solely on another person's statement.

2. Maintain Safe Muzzle Direction

I will keep the firearm's muzzle pointed in a safe direction at all times and will never intentionally allow the muzzle to cover any person or anything I am not prepared to shoot.

3. Trigger-Finger Discipline

I will keep my finger straight and outside the trigger guard until I have made the conscious decision to fire and it is appropriate to do so as part of the authorized training activity.

4. Know the Target and What Is Around It

Before firing, I will positively identify the intended target and remain aware of the target's foreground, background, and surrounding area. I will fire only when authorized and when a safe shooting condition exists.

ARGUS TACTICAL TRAINING & RANGE SAFETY RULES

In addition to the fundamental firearm safety rules, I agree to comply with the following requirements whenever participating in Argus Tactical LLC training. I understand that instructor commands and applicable range-specific safety rules must be followed immediately.

  1. Instructor Commands & Cease-Fire

I will immediately follow all safety commands and instructions given by an Argus Tactical instructor or authorized range personnel. Upon hearing “CEASE FIRE,” “STOP,” or another emergency stop command, I will immediately stop firing, remove my finger from the trigger, keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction, and await further instructions.

  1. Loading & Unloading

I will load, unload, chamber a round, or otherwise prepare a firearm for firing only when and where authorized by the instructor and permitted by the applicable range procedures. At all other times, I will maintain the firearm in the condition directed by the instructor.

  1. Handling Firearms

I will handle firearms only in designated areas and when authorized to do so. I will not unnecessarily manipulate, display, unholster, or handle a firearm while other persons are forward of the firing line or while firearm handling is otherwise prohibited.

  1. Dropped Firearms

If I drop a firearm, I will not attempt to catch it. I will allow it to fall, maintain awareness of its location, and follow the instructor's directions before retrieving or handling it.

  1. Malfunctions

If I experience a firearm or ammunition malfunction that I cannot safely resolve using procedures authorized during the training, I will keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction, keep my finger outside the trigger guard, and notify an instructor. I will not attempt an unfamiliar corrective procedure without authorization.

6.Holsters & Drawing

I will draw from, reholster into, or otherwise use a holster during training only when specifically authorized by the instructor. I will use only equipment permitted for the applicable exercise and will immediately stop if directed to do so.

  1. Ammunition

I will use only ammunition that is appropriate for the firearm being used and permitted by the instructor and training facility. I will not knowingly use damaged, improperly identified, prohibited, or otherwise unsuitable ammunition.

  1. Eye & Hearing Protection

I will wear appropriate eye and hearing protection whenever required and will not remove required protective equipment while on an active firing line or in another area where such protection is required unless directed or authorized by an instructor.

  1. Firing Line & Downrange Movement

I will not move forward of the firing line, approach targets, retrieve equipment, or enter a designated downrange area until the firing line has been made safe and an instructor or authorized range official has expressly permitted such movement.

  1. Horseplay & Distractions

I will not engage in horseplay, threatening conduct, reckless behavior, unnecessary distractions, or any other conduct that could interfere with safe firearms handling or instruction.

  1. Impairment

I will not possess, handle, or use a firearm while impaired by alcohol, unlawful drugs, medication, fatigue, illness, or another condition that makes firearm handling unsafe. I will notify the instructor and discontinue firearm handling if I become unable to participate safely.

  1. Unsafe Conditions

If I observe an unsafe condition, unsafe firearm handling, or another immediate safety concern, I will promptly alert the instructor or call a cease-fire when appropriate. I understand that every participant has a responsibility to help prevent an unsafe condition from continuing.

  1. Instructor Authority

I understand that an Argus Tactical instructor may immediately stop an exercise, restrict my use of particular equipment, remove me from the firing line, or suspend or terminate my participation when reasonably necessary to address a safety concern, violation of applicable law or range rules, failure to follow instructions, or other unsafe conduct.

  1. No Unauthorized Firearm Use

I will not fire, handle, exchange, lend, borrow, or otherwise use another person's firearm or equipment during training unless authorized by the firearm's lawful possessor and permitted by the instructor.

PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY & FINAL ACKNOWLEDGMENT

  1. RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFE CONDUCT

I understand that I am personally responsible for following all applicable safety rules, instructor commands, range requirements, and laws throughout my participation in training. I will not perform an action involving a firearm or ammunition unless I understand how to perform it safely and have been authorized to do so when instructor authorization is required.

  1. QUESTIONS & CLARIFICATION

If I do not understand an instruction, safety rule, firearm condition, training exercise, or instructor command, I will stop and request clarification before proceeding. I understand that asking a safety-related question will not be considered a failure to perform an exercise.

  1. CHANGING OR UNSAFE CONDITIONS

I agree to immediately notify an instructor if I become aware of an unsafe condition, equipment problem, physical limitation, or other circumstance that may affect my ability or another participant's ability to safely continue an activity.

  1. AGREEMENT TO COMPLY

I understand that compliance with these safety requirements is a condition of my participation in Argus Tactical LLC training. I understand that failure to comply may result in restriction, suspension, or termination of my participation in an exercise or course when reasonably necessary to protect safety or comply with applicable law, range rules, or Argus Tactical policies.
